Contact Skin Perfect Medical Aesthetics today to learn about the different Autologous Conditioned Plasma services we offer.

What is Autologous Conditioned Plasma?

Autologous Conditioned Plasma is an important rejuvenation and regenerative component found in our blood. Blood is comprised of two main elements: plasma and red blood cells. Within plasma, there are white blood cells and Autologous Conditioned Plasma with nutrients, growth factors, and much more. Autologous Conditioned Plasma consists of all of the following:

  • transforming growth factor beta
  • platelet-derived growth factor
  • keratinocyte growth factor
  • fibroblast growth factor
  • vascular endothelial growth factor
  • connective tissue growth factor
  • epidermal growth factor
  • insulin-like growth factor 1
  • insulin-like growth factor 2

Overall, Autologous Conditioned Plasma’s main jobs are to increase blood flow, stimulate collagen production, and speed up the body’s natural healing response, whether this be from an accidental injury or a meticulously induced wound like from microneedling.

How Do You Get Autologous Conditioned Plasma?

About 1 vial of blood (possibly more depending on the treatment and treatment area size) is drawn from the patient and the sample is then placed in a centrifuge. This is a special device the spins the sample at an extremely high velocity to separate the plasma from the red blood cells.

Once separated, the specialist can then retrieve just the fibrin and autologous conditioned plasma from the top layer with a special syringe. It is then ready to inject.

Benefits

1. Improves the overall quality of skin
Autologous Conditioned Plasma has been proven to improve skin tone, texture, complexion, and overall quality. It can address skin that has become damaged by sun exposure, acne scars, melasma, stretch marks, fine lines, and wrinkles. Autologous Conditioned Plasma can be beneficial on its own or supercharged when paired with another skin rejuvenation treatment like microneedling.

2. Non-Surgical
In comparison to other skin rejuvenation procedures, Autologous Conditioned Plasma treatments are non-surgical, require no incisions, and have minimal to no downtime.

3. Comfortable treatment
This treatment is virtually painless. The injections themselves are usually not felt because of the topical numbing solution placed beforehand.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma Services We Offer

Standard Autologous Conditioned Plasma Injections

One skin rejuvenation treatment we offer at Skin Perfect Medical Aesthetics is pure Autologous Conditioned Plasma injections. This is used to provide a ‘pick me up’ to the skin as it works to induce collagen production in the treatment area.

Dermal fillers with Autologous Conditioned Plasma

Dermal fillers like Juvederm and Sculptra are used to add youthful volume to the cheeks, lips, and temples as well as fill in deep wrinkles to smooth the skin. This particular Autologous Conditioned Plasma treatment is a combination of traditional dermal filler injections, but in addition, Autologous Conditioned Plasma is injected on top of the filler. By injecting the two together, the face will have more volume and better contour from the dermal fillers and the Autologous Conditioned Plasma on top will revitalize the skin from the inside out.

Microneedling with Autologous Conditioned Plasma

Facial Rejuvenation

Microneedling is a skin rejuvenation treatment that creates little micro channels in the skin with tiny needles to induce the skin’s healing response. The micro channels themselves heal within a couple of hours, but they are perceived to be ‘wounds’ by the skin which then causes skin to produce an influx in collagen and elastin to repair the wounds. At Skin Perfect Medical Aesthetics, we use the Dermapen, an automated pen-shaped microneedling device that can reach varying depths for different treatment levels. Those who want a ‘pick me up’ may only require the needles to reach the shallow levels of the epidermis, while those with acne scars and pigmentation concerns will need the needles to reach deeper into the skin to address the underlying causes.

The microneedling with Autologous Conditioned Plasma treatment begins with a topical anesthetic applied to the face.Autologous Conditioned Plasma is applied both before and after the treatment for optimal results. It is applied before so the needles can penetrate the serum deep into the skin, as well as afterward so the additional Autologous Conditioned Plasma has an easier time reaching deep. Other serums are available as desired. After the numbing agent and Autologous Conditioned Plasma are placed on the treatment area, the skincare expert will move the Dermapen meticulously across the face at different levels to address the particular concerns at hand. After microneedling has been performed, more Autologous Conditioned Plasma is dripped over the microchannels for best results.

Stretch Marks

Autologous Conditioned Plasma treatment for stretch marks is all the rage. While Autologous Conditioned Plasma can be injected on its own to treat stretch marks, we prefer to perform microneedling with Autologous Conditioned Plasma because the Autologous Conditioned Plasma produces more growth factors when the healing process is initiated, in turn, better overall results. Autologous Conditioned Plasma stretch mark treatment can be performed anywhere on the body, including the more common areas like the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, and breasts.

As described above, the Dermapen is applied to the area of concern after a topical numbing solution and Autologous Conditioned Plasma have been applied. The Autologous Conditioned Plasma is then applied once more over the micro channels so they can better target the stretch marks. Again, in some cases, Autologous Conditioned Plasma may be directly injected into the area of concern.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma Hair Restoration

Autologous Conditioned Plasma hair restoration is a non-invasive treatment that uses Autologous Conditioned Plasma to regrow your own natural hair. Hair follicles are responsible for regulating the growth of hair which happens in three different phases: anagen (active growth), catagen (resting), and telogen (regression). When injected into thinning or balding areas, the Autologous Conditioned Plasma stimulates the inactive hair follicles which promotes the natural active growth of new hair. Not only does Autologous Conditioned Plasma stimulate new hair growth though, but the new hair usually grows thicker and in more quantity per follicular unit.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma hair restoration has quickly become one of the most popular hair restoration treatments for a multitude of reasons. For one, Autologous Conditioned Plasma hair restoration is quicker than FUE and strip graft methods. Additionally, there is no scalpel, no incisions, and no recovery required. The Autologous Conditioned Plasma injections are usually delivered across the treatment area about every half an inch.

Consultation

During the initial consultation, one of our skincare specialists will ask you some questions in regards to your concerns, your medical history, and your desired results. They will then perform a skin evaluation, and from all of the gathered information, they will be able to determine the optimal course of action. This may include a series of a particular Autologous Conditioned Plasma treatment or a combination of different treatments.

Recovery and Results

Dermal fillers with Autologous Conditioned Plasma

There is no recovery necessary after a dermal filler with Autologous Conditioned Plasma treatment. Patients are able to return to their normal routine. Initial redness and swelling of the injection sites is normal and will subside quickly; breathable makeup can conceal this for the meantime. Different dermal fillers last for different lengths of time, ranging from 9 months to 5 years. Autologous Conditioned Plasma, however, will continually improve the skin’s complexion. The face will appear more youthful with beautiful definition and a smoother, more clear complexion. Routine treatment can provide lasting youthful results.

Microneedling with Autologous Conditioned Plasma

After a microneedling with Autologous Conditioned Plasma facial rejuvenation treatment, a cold compress will be placed on the treatment area to reduce redness. Patients should generally take about 5 days of downtime because the skin will slightly peel as it reveals healthier glowing skin. Results will improve after a couple of weeks and best results can be enjoyed after 6 months as the healing process from both the microneedling and Autologous Conditioned Plasma really takes effect.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma for Stretch Marks

Similar to Autologous Conditioned Plasma for facial rejuvenation, Autologous Conditioned Plasma for stretch marks takes a couple of weeks for results to start becoming visible and 6 months for optimal results, but requires less initial downtime. The microneedling reaches deep enough for it to reduce the appearance of stretch marks from the inside out and the Autologous Conditioned Plasma accelerates this process. The skin will also appear smoother and firmer.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma Hair Restoration

There is no real downtime needed after Autologous Conditioned Plasma hair restoration treatments. Patients may experience slight swelling and redness; however, this will dissipate rapidly. For the first days after the treatment, patients are advised to take it easy and do not perform any vigorous activities. The ingredients found in Autologous Conditioned Plasma will speed up the recovery time as well. Because there are no incisions created with this procedure, there will be no scarring. It is recommended that patients return to the office once every three months to allow the physician to monitor the healing process and hair restoration outcomes.

The results will vary from patient to patient depending on their body’s ability to heal and recover. Typically, the outcomes of the treatment can be seen after about 6 months. In certain cases, some patients may require multiple treatments to achieve their aesthetic goal.
